An Internet Protocol address, or IP address for short, is a numerical designation given to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. The device is identified by its IP address, which also creates a path to it. However, not every IP address may be accessed over the open internet, and 192.168.1.1 is one of them. There are 65,536 IP addresses in the 16-bit block of the private IPv4 address space, ranging from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255, and this default IP address is one of them.
